HMD Global has launched its first bezel-less phone, aka the Nokia 7 Plus, in India at a price of Rs 25,999. A stark departure from its other siblings -- the Nocơ 8110 4G, the Notê 1, the Nokia 6 2018, & the Nocơ 8 Sirocteo -- the Nocơ 7 Plus neither has an awe-inspiring spec-sheet, nor is it awe-inspiringly nostalgic. But it seems lượt thích, HMD Global built it that way, on purpose. HMD Global is known khổng lồ play the nostalgia card, way too often, và there"s only so much that nostalgia can bởi. While I appreciate HMD"s tryst lớn re-launch yesteryear classics, it was about time, the company also started embracing the future. The future, in case you haven"t noticed already, is all about the bold & the bezel-less. And that"s where the Nokia 7 Plus comes in.

There"s one problem though. It"s a little thing they Call sibling rivalry. Although the Nocơ 7 Plus will have some serious competition to lớn tackle at its price point, its toughest rival will be HMD"s own Nokia 8. The Nocơ 8 is a high-kết thúc flagship phone & only recently it received a massive Rs 8,000 price cut bringing the price of the phone down from Rs 39,999 khổng lồ Rs 28,999. On Amazon India that also happens to be the exclusive sầu seller for the Nokia 7 Plus, you can now purchase the Nocơ 8 for as low as Rs 27,388. While it takes no genius to lớn ascertain that the Notê 8 trumps the Nokia 7 Plus in almost all of the departments, here"s a quiông chồng look at what each has to offer at the kết thúc of the day.

1. The Nocơ 8 is an all-metal smartphone carved out of 6000 series aluminium but two of its variants -- Polished blue & Polished copper -- have been polished khổng lồ near perfection so they look like all-glass phones. They are glossy. The Tempered blue & Steel variants are meanwhile meant for someone who likes it sober. The front is chamfered -- and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection -- to enhance grip và ergonomics. The Nokia 8 has a physical home button on the front that also houses a fingerprint scanner, and is flanked by touch-based capacitive keys which are backlit. It comes with USB Type-C port for charging & data syncing. The Nokia 8, in addition, comes with IP54 certification which makes it splash-proof (but not water-proof).

2. The Nocơ 7 Plus is also an all-metal smartphone -- boasting of 6000 series aluminium - but it comes with curved 2.5 chiều Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front. The bachồng of the Notê 7 Plus gradually wraps around the front in a unitoàn thân style so the phone, in fact, feels like it has been carved out of a single bloông chồng of 6000 series aluminium. On top of it, HMD is using a ceramic-lượt thích coating, that feels smooth khổng lồ the touch, & also hides the unsightly antenmãng cầu lines. HMD is also using bold colour accents khổng lồ accentuate the phone"s sides as well as on the baông chồng. The company is also using the same bold colour scheme around the camera module & the fingerprint scanner. HMD is also using its bold colour accent scheme around the power button and the volume rocker. It"s bold, is what it is, & it will be available for buying in blaông xã and White options.

3. Both the phones come with an always-on display called Glance Screen as well.

4. The Nocơ 7 Plus gives you a 6-inch full-HD+ IPS LCD display with a 2160x1080 pixel resolution. While not exactly pixel-popping -- not khổng lồ mention, not being VR-ready either -- this should get the job done for most users although it"s a little disappointing that the Notê 7 Plus -- that"s all about the screen -- misses out on the opportunity, when HMD has a Notê 8 that comes with a Quad-HD display. At more or less the same price. The Notê 8, in terms of core specifics, comes with a 5.3-inch quad-HD IPS display.

8. Where the Nocơ 7 Plus is really likely lớn outshine the Nocơ 8, is in the camera department. HMD is promising a lot with the Nocơ Plus as far as cameras are concerned. Just lượt thích the Nokia 8, the Notê 7 Plus also comes with dual rear cameras although the set-up has been revamped & hopefully also improved along the way. The dual camera system on-board the Nokia 7 Plus comes with a primary 12-megapx sensor with 1.4um pixel size and f/1.75 aperture while the secondary sensor is 13-megapx with f/2.6 aperture. There"s no OIS though, although HMD is upgrading the camera software with a new Pro mode that"s similar to lớn what you found on the old Nocơ Lumia devices. The Pro mode offers manual control over settings in a radial manner, allowing you khổng lồ change white balance, ISO, shutter speed, and exposure compensation. The Nokia 8, meanwhile, comes with a dual camera system on the rear -- 13MP RGB+13MP Monochrome sensor -- assisted with Optical Image Stabilisation, laser & phase detection autofocus along with a dual-LED flash. Both the dual rear cameras are further assisted by ZEISS optics.

9. On the front, the Notê 7 Plus comes with a 16-megapx camera, which is an upgrade from the one on-board the Nocơ 8, at least on paper. The Notê 8 comes with a 13-megapixel front camera. Both the phones tư vấn Dual-Sight, a feature that lets a user khổng lồ simultaneously use both the rear & front cameras to take stills/record videos. If that wasn"t enough, the phone also allows for live sầu broadcast of videos shot using Dual-Sight on to social truyền thông media platforms like Facebook.

10. The Nocơ 7 Plus is backed by a 3,800mAh battery which is claimed to offer up khổng lồ 2-days of battery life on a single charge. The phone comes with USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing, và supports fast charging as well. The Nocơ 8 is backed by a smaller 3,090mAh battery and also supports fast charging.
